Mighty Trial Win

After resuming from a spell with an indifferent performance beind Shogun Sun and Addictive Nature at Randwick, three-year-old All Too Hard gelding The Mighty Fed had a four week break before heading back to the trials on Monday at Rosehill Gardens.

A winner of two of his three starts and touted as a likely top-line performer for his owner Nordic Racing and Breeding (Markus and Ingrid Jooste), The Mighty Fed jumped away well from the gates with Kathy O’Hara in the saddle before taking up third position on the rail.

As the leader took the field into the home straight, O’Hara urged The Mighty Fed off his heels, where he simply ambled up before eventually passing the leader.

Although only taking the trial narrowly, it was the manner in which he performed that suggests he may just not be a first-up horse – as both of his losing performance from his four starts to date have been when having his first start of a preparation.

Best of luck to his connections when The Mighty Fed steps out next as there are plenty of exciting stakes races around for the three-year-old’s throughout the Spring Carnival.
