Classic Trio For Payne Racing

With the completion of the 2017 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, the David Payne Racing stable was fortunate enough to secure three lovely yearling colts.

The first secured was Lot 91, a colt from the first crop of Newgate Farm’s The Factor, out of the three-time-winning Tale of The Cat mare Angel’s Breath.

From the draft of Middlebrook Valley Lodge, the colt is a half-brother to Listed winner Terror Force (Al Maher) from the family of multiple Group 3-winning sprinter Legal Agent.

With shares already snapped up in this colt, the second of the purchases is also already full.

From the draft of well-respected farm Newhaven Park, the chestnut colt (Lot 203) is by Darley’s Poet’s Voice, a Group 1-winning son of Dubawi.

The third foal of the Cape Cross mare Sheen, herself a half-sister to the Listed winner Singing Poet (Singspiel) and the Group 2 placed Goldtown (Sunday Silence), the colt was purchased for $30,000.

The final of the three purchases was Lot 306, a colt by Emirates Park’s Dream Ahead out of the four-time-winning More Than Ready mare You Or Me.

Just the second foal for the young mare, the colt was purchased from the draft of Berrima-based property Wattle grove for $40,000 and comes from the family of stakes winners Havana, Weber City Miss, Slew City Slew, Dream Touch and Black Rock Desert to name a few.

More Than Ready as a broodmare sire has produced over 80 stakes performers, with five winners at Group 1 level – Miracles Of Life, Rebel Dane, Luna Rosa, Delectation and Atlante - why wouldn't you want to get involved in this colt!
