French Fern Back On Track

Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) winner French Fern (Lope De Vega) will make a long-awaited comeback in the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) on Saturday after the now three-year-old filly’s spring was aborted.

Trainer David Payne was forced to spell French Fern after only two barrier trials last preparation because she contracted a virus.

French Fern finished sixth of eight in a barrier trial at Rosehill over 1030 metres on 17 January and Payne expects the filly could find the 1200 metres on Saturday too short for her.
