David Payne Racing Active On The Gold Coast

With Book 1 and Book 2 of the 2019 Magic Millions Yearling Sale complete, the David Payne Racing Stable have walked away with five top quality yearlings, some for clients, and some looking for owners.

Securing Lot 166 from the draft of Aquis Farm, the bay filly is from the first southern hemisphere crop of Coolmore Stud's Group 1-winning and Group 1 producing son of Scat Daddy in No Nay Never.

The filly is the first foal of the winning Speedwagon, herself a full-sister to Magic Millions 2YO Classic third placegetter and multiple winner Schiffer, as well as the Group 1 family of Vedodora, Sharvasti, Linton and Shastri.

Purchased for a client, Lot 382 is a bay filly from the first crop of Darley’s Group 1 George Main Stakes and Group 1 Doncaster Handicap-winning son of Teofilo in Kermadec.

The fourth foal of the imported stakes placed Shirocco mare Bana Wu, the Tyreel Stud-offered filly comes from the family of Group 1 Caulfield Cup winner All The Good as well as Dansili’s Group 2-winning son Strategic Prince.

A lovely chestnut filly from the first crop of the Coolmore Stud-based Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes and Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Pride Of Dubai, himself an impressive son of Street Cry, Lot 493 was the third yearling secured at the sale, this time from the Berkeley Park Stud draft.

Out of the unraced Not A Single Doubt mare Daisy Lane, a half-sister to Group 1 Epsom Handicap winner Captain Sonador, it is the family of stakes winners Umaline and Fasline.

Book 2 of the sale saw some great opportunities with Lot 932 appealing greatly.

By another first crop sire, the filly is by Darley’s Group 1 Golden Rose winner Exosphere, a well-related son of Lonhro.

Out of the unraced More Than Ready mare Carbon Tax, the Willow Park Stud-consigned filly is from the family of Group 1 winners Redding, Nothin’ Leica Dane and Leica Smile.

The final purchase came from the Luskin Park Stud draft as Lot 1042 was secured.

By proven Group 1 producing sire Manhattan Rain, the filly is out of the Onemorenomore mare Nomorepetulance, a half-sister to the Payne Racing’s former Group 2 Reisling Stakes winner French Fern.

From the family of Group 1 winner Russeting as well as the stakes winners La Famelia and Sixth Legion, the filly is a nice and early July foal.
